Description

The AS 1240, probably made in the late 1940ies was a very nice ladies' watch movement, which already had the ultra modern center second indication.

The center second is directly driven in the two-storied construction. This is not only technically interesting (for example because of the very long axle of the anchor wheel), but also visually very appealing because of the nicely top plate with its strips and its angled edges.

The nickel screw balance is secured by a two-thigh shock protection system, maybe of the type Monorex. This is an indication for its old age, too.
