|
Description
The Baumgartner 582 is a rather late pin lever movement, probably dating from the mid-1970ies.
It beats semi-fast with 21600 A/h, has got a KIF-Trior secured nickel balance and contains only
two synthetic rubies, both for the balance wheel.
A different version only uses one jewel and a Novodiac shock protection.
The movement is not very service-friendly constructed: All four gears are below one large
plate, and in case of service, all of them have to be put carefully into their position
simultaneously. The advantage of this construction is, that you don't have adjusting
problems with differently adjusted plates. All trains are in an optimal position.
As usual on Baumgartner movement, the minute hand is indirectly driven by the
bottom plate of the mainspring. This means, that on correcting the time with the yoke lever
winding mechanism, the bottom plate of the mainspring is turned.
The version with date indication switches the date slowly forth and back. A fast correction is
not possible.
