Bifora 113

Description

The Bifora Caliber 113 is a rather modern constructed movement, compared with other popular Bifora movements. It contains a directly driven center second hand.

An interesting fact is, that it is constructed very compact, so that not all the available space is used. You can easily see this on the triangle of the jewels of the anchor wheel, center wheel and intermediate wheel. It uses really very few space.

The only large thing on this movement is the two-leg ring balance. Together with its very long regulator arm, it helps achieving a good precision. Whether the dome-shaped pallets improve the accuracy over normally shaped pallets is unknown.

On the dial side, there's only a rocking bar winding mechanism. Fortunately it is very well constructed.
